From our beginnings in Tanjong Pagar, Singapore, we have grown our portfolio to include hotels, resorts and mixed-use developments in key cities such as Bangkok and Shanghai. Guided by a commitment to thoughtful design, warm hospitality and long-term stewardship, we create spaces and experiences that bring people together and stand the test of time.
Our Milestones
Founded by the late Mr Teo Teck Huat – a construction business which built the first skyscraper in Singapore, Cathay Building
1937
Entry into hospitality and retail – opening of Amara Hotel and Amara Shopping Centre in Tanjong Pagar, Singapore
1986
First overseas venture – Amara Saigon Hotel with transformation of former U.S. Army barracks into a luxury business hotel
1996
Amara was listed on SGX Sesdaq in 1997, and transferred to the SGX Mainboard in 2000
1997
First property in China – Amara Chengdu with luxuriously appointed rooms in the city centre
1999
First resort property – Amara Sanctuary Sentosa with restoration of colonial-style British army barracks
2007
100 AM Singapore was introduced following the rebranding of Amara Shopping Centre and the addition of an office tower
2012
First property in Thailand – Amara Bangkok with a rooftop infinity pool offering panoramic city views
2015
First international mixed-use development – opening of Amara Shanghai and 100 AM
2018
Amara Holdings was delisted from the SGX, following a successful privatisation offer

With over five decades of leadership, Mr Albert Teo has been instrumental in shaping Amara Holdings into a leading Singapore-grown hospitality and property group. His vision has guided the Group's expansion across hospitality, commercial and mixed-use developments, while fostering sustainable growth and creating long-term value for the business and its stakeholders.

Chief Operating Officer
Drawing on her experience in investment banking and corporate finance, Ms Dawn Teo plays a key role in shaping Amara Holdings' strategic direction and driving operational excellence across the Group. She focuses on enhancing business performance, optimising the Group's portfolio and identifying opportunities that support sustainable long-term growth.
Tang Wei Liang
Chief Financial Officer
Bringing over two decades of experience in banking and capital markets, Mr Tang Wei Liang provides strategic financial leadership across the Group’s business units. A CFA charterholder, he brings deep expertise in corporate finance, capital management and structured financing, supporting the Group's long-term growth, investment strategy and value creation.
